Preparing and Showing

Clean and de-clutter! Everyone has their idea of clean and unclean. Don't change your lifestyle just to sell your home. It is a proven fact that clean and organized homes typically sell quicker and for more money. Cleaning and de-cluttering can often be the easiest way to get a buyer to say yes to your home!

Accepting an Offer

If you believe in your realtors marketing plan, they've shown you the data on what you can get out of your home. The next step is to price is right and prepare for offers! Receiving offers can be an exciting but overwhelming time. Make sure your agent is taking the time to sit down with you and explain the positive aspects and potential negative aspects with each offer. Your realtor should also make sure you have plenty of time to be able to move out of your current home and into your new home stress-free!

Inspections and Appraisals

Most buyers will make their offers contingent upon a satisfactory home inspection. Items that are broken, dysfunctional or not up to code are generally grounds for a buyer to want to renegotiate. A great realtor should be a strong negotiator and must know how to navigate you through inspections. Be up front with your realtor in the beginning and ask to see their negotiating credentials!
